Privacy Policy

The short version: we collect your email to create your account, your saved tickers to power your portfolio, and basic usage data to improve the product. We don't sell your data. Ever.

What we collect and why

Account data

Your email address — used to create and identify your account, send magic links, and deliver alerts and digest emails if you opt in.

Portfolio data

Tickers you add manually or import via Plaid. Stored to power your portfolio view and personalise your experience.

Alert preferences

Conditions you set for stock alerts — ticker, threshold, and alert type. Used only to trigger notifications.

Usage data

Pages visited, tickers searched, and features used. Collected in aggregate to understand how the product is used and where to improve it. Not linked to your identity for advertising.

Payment data

If you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We only receive confirmation that a charge succeeded and your subscription status.

If you connect a brokerage via Plaid

Plaid is a third-party service that lets you securely link your brokerage.

We request read-only access to your holdings only — the list of stocks you own and share quantities. That is all we import.

We do not access: account balances, transaction history, routing numbers, login credentials, or any ability to move money.

Your Plaid access token is stored encrypted in our database. You can revoke access and disconnect your brokerage at any time in your account settings.

How we use what we collect

We use your data to:

  • Create and maintain your account
  • Display your portfolio and saved tickers
  • Send alerts and digest emails you have opted into
  • Process your Pro subscription
  • Understand how people use stockee so we can improve it

We do not use your data to:

  • Sell to third parties
  • Target you with advertising
  • Build profiles for marketing purposes
  • Share with data brokers

Third-party services we use

Supabase

Our database and authentication provider. Your account data and portfolio data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. supabase.com/privacy

Stripe

Payment processing for Pro subscriptions. We never store card details. stripe.com/privacy

Plaid

Optional brokerage connection for Pro users. plaid.com/legal/privacy-policy

Financial Modeling Prep (FMP)

Source of all stock data displayed on the platform. We query their API; your personal data is not shared with FMP.

Google Gemini

AI model used to generate plain-English explanations. Ticker data and financial metrics are sent to Gemini to generate summaries. No personal account data is included in these requests. ai.google.dev/terms

How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored on Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure. Sensitive data including Plaid access tokens is encrypted at rest.

We use Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure your portfolio and alert data is only accessible to your account.

We take reasonable security measures but no system is perfectly secure. If there is ever a breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly.

How long we keep your data

Active accounts: We keep your data for as long as your account is active.

Deleted accounts: When you delete your account, your personal data (email, portfolio, alerts, preferences) is deleted within 30 days. Anonymised aggregate usage data may be retained.

Subscription records: We retain billing records for 7 years as required for accounting purposes.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account and personal data.
  • Portability — request your portfolio data in a portable format.
  • Opt out — unsubscribe from alert and digest emails at any time via the unsubscribe link or your account settings.

If you are in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR. If you are in California, you have additional rights under CCPA.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

The cookies we set are strictly necessary for the platform to function. You can block cookies in your browser settings but this will prevent you from staying signed in.

When this policy changes

If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we will notify you by email before the changes take effect.
